CHELSEA manager Carlo Ancelotti has made the strongest indications John Terry will not be sold to ambitious and free-spending Manchester City or anyone else.
"John Terry is a symbol of this team,'' said Ancelotti at a recent press conference. "He will be captain next season. He said he wants to stay forever and we want to keep him forever. The story continues - Chelsea and Terry."
Comparing the Chelsea captain to A. C. Milan legend Paolo Maldini, a player he knows intimately, and is rumoured to be joining the Chelsea coaching staff, Ancelotti said:"I like to have a captain like Terry, he is very close to Maldini in terms of professionalism and quality."
Although confirming the arrival of Russian international midfielder Yuri Zhirkov from CSKA Moscow, Ancelotti would not be drawn into disclosing any further incoming signings. He also dismissed the recent talk of Deco and Carvalho's proposed moves to Inter Milan.
"Carvalho and Deco are Chelsea players,'' he continued. ''If in the future a player wants to go they have to speak with the club and we take the right decision for the player and for us."
