The new Karren Brady executive management has come in and swiftly rung changes through the ranks of West Ham United. One of these cost cutting measures was to deem Luis Jimenez surplus to requirements. Originally on loan until the end of the season, the Chilean "El Mago" is now transferred to Italian Serie A strugglers, Parma.
But how did he perform in the Premiership? Telegraph has the statistics to show these.
His Premiership statistics are:2009/10 | |||

Mainly his performances for the Irons have been ineffective and for a player of his talent, he could not exert any influence in the matches that he played.
BUT He will always be remembered though as the man who won us the penalty against Portsmouth that Diamanti emphatically put away. The Hammers have been unbeaten since then.
So yes, the Chilean was an unfortunate poor gamble. If Zola had planned on evolving Jimenez into his image, then it was a mini-project that failed to materialise.
The only thing worth mentioning about Jimenez about his loan spell to West Ham is his model wife, Maria Jose Lopez.
Quite clearly, Luis "Jimegol" Jimenez could not cope with the physical nature and frenetic pace of the English Premiership. Hope we can see more of what he is capable of in South Africa this summer.
