West Ham Out Of The Woods? Carlos Tevez Coming Back?

The star of the first "Great Escape", Carlos Tevez have declared that he wants to play for West Ham once again as he claimed there were unfinished business. That's just fantastic, his brand of all-action football is something that we have missed this season especially. He is playing well also, seeing that he has now scored six goals in his last three starts.

He has already showed his dissatisfaction with the management and coaching style of Roberto Mancini. Further to this, he has, like Craig Bellamy, questioned the rationale of the owners for sacking Mark Hughes. Funny, we have seen this before while Carlitos was at Manchester United. Hope this means he is angling for a move back to West Ham because he would be greatly welcomed by all Hammers fans. As long as he does not score against us in the final game of this season.

Also in the news are reports that Zola is confident of landing one of the most sought after striker in Jermaine Beckford.

Though the jury is out on whether Beckford can make the transition from prolific League 1 goalscorer to a Premier League goalscoring machine, this can be a great signing for next season. We have seen him score against Manchester United and Spurs in the FA Cup so he is a talented goalscorer. The step up to Premier League level however is tough, just ask David Nugent and Jason Scotland.

After that win against Sunderland, the Premier League table look easier reading now. Four points is a comfortable cushion at this stage. Even more promising is the feeling that the team have started winning even when they are not playing well. Grinding out victories can be crucial in a relegation scrap. Because of that vital win over the Black Cats, suddenly even Wolves' league standing do not look so secure now.

Carlton Cole, sadly, still looks out of sorts but I know that Zola will let him play himself out of this slump. Liverpool defenders are not the quickest and therefore, with his pace and awkward reach, Cole have the perfect game to have that breakout game. If ex-Hammer, Zamora can ruffle the Liverpool defence, Carlton Cole have the necessary arsenal to give Liverpool some worries.

We are hanging in there due to two main advantage over the other relegation rivals,
  1. Superior goal difference (-16) as compared to Wigan (-34), Burnley (-36) and Hull (-38)
  2. Different players peaking at the right time, e.g. Ilan against Everton and Sunderland
So if Cole can recapture his early season goal scoring form, West Ham could be on the up once more and all talk of relegation will be a distant memory.

Things are looking a lot better after that lucky win! If Fulham can hold Liverpool at Anfield last weekend, West Ham can also do the same.

Come On You Irons!
