At a glance, you may appreciate that to reach 500 games is truly a remarkable feat. Only two active Premiership players have achieved it thus far. David James and Ryan Giggs. Who else have a great chance of reaching the "500 club"?
Emile Heskey and Frank Lampard need less than two full seasons in their respective club's first team to be included into this exclusive group of players. My guess is that Frank Lampard who is 31, stands a better chance of achieving this milestone than Heskey does.
The irrepressible Wayne Rooney has clocked up 244 Premier League appearances. He looks certain to be surpassing 500 games within the next seven seasons when he will be 32 years old. When that happens, it would eventually prove to be a fantastic and rewarding career for the once Boy Wonder.
