Little Ribery Tops Ligue 1 Assists, Beckham's Impact On Ronaldinho Assists, Nene Is Best Ranked Fantasy Footballer & Fastest 577 Goals In The EPL

Winter break is over, and the leagues around Europe will resume in full force this weekend. At this juncture, I felt it appropriate to present a snapshot of how the dust had temporarily settled and will start to pick up again this January 2010.

Fahid Ben Khalfallah or "the little Ribery" as he is known in France, is leading the assists table in Ligue 1 ahead of the more established Yoann Gourcuff. The Tunisian will not be pulling on the national team's jersey as he rejected the invitation to play in the African Nations Cup.

Bayer Leverkusen's Stefan Kiessling is knocking the goals in to push Leverkusen to the top of the Bundesliga. His goals and Sami Hyppia's defensive leadership are two factors for Leverkusen's great run. Ronaldinho is enjoying his time under Leonardo, contributing eight assists so far. Will his productivity drop now that David Beckham is back with the Rossoneri?

Monaco's Nene is seen as the fantasy footballer with the most points so far with 307 points. His ten goals, one assist, 34 shots on target and three matchwinning goals makes him a Ligue 1 fantasy footballer that all players must have.

The English Premiership outscored the rest of the other leagues with 577 goals already scored midway into the season. Just goes to prove that the Premier League is the most exciting league to watch. Especially this season, where Manchester City, Villa and Spurs are making the Big 4 clubs look over their shoulders.
